A member of the IT management team, this newly formed role is responsible for facilitating the definition, communication and implementation of a comprehensive technical vision/strategic roadmap for the broader IT organization. A primary focus of the role will be the management of a documented, mutually understood current-state of the company's application and infrastructure architecture and facilitating the development of and transition to target-state architecture(s) aligned with the strategic business/IT objectives, policies, and defined architecture standards. Leveraging a largely matrixed team of solution architects, this position provides leadership direction and accountability for strategic application architecture plans, system design, and implementation. Ensures the development of holistic enterprise architecture standards and facilitates the adherence and governance of related project activity.
This role collaborates with key business leadership, senior IT management, cross-discipline architects and service delivery team members to create/maintain program/portfolio/enterprise business and application/technology Architectures. This role also engages with the Data, Technology and Security Architect teams to ensure cross domain completeness of architecture design and support of non functional requirements. Candidates should possess a broad diverse set of experience in the areas described below.
Job Responsibilities:
Integration Responsibilities:
Develop/maintain an understanding of the client business processes and the application systems/infrastructure that supports them
Define and maintain architecture principles, policies, standards necessary to drive/support business aligned IT strategies
Define and enforce architecture standards and strategy alignment through governance controls in PMO, Project/Solution Development Lifecycle, Change Management, and Procurement processes
Responsible for overall solution architecture design/review activities throughout corporate projects
Educate business and IT teams on architecture standards and strategies that impact technology investments.
Lead vendor product RFP and selection processes
Responsible for identifying/architecting all integration points between client's application systems
Responsible for developing overarching application architecture and associated requirements
Directs and/or participates in the development of current-state/target state architectures
Develops technical proposals and presents to broader IT and business community as required
Responsible for coaching, developing and mentoring associates
Responsible for conducting performance appraisals for associates as required
Personnel management as required
Manage overall architecture budget as required while facilitating expense management across the broader IT architecture portfolio (total cost of ownership)
Qualifications/Competencies:
10 years of management experience
10 years demonstrated experience managing/architecting complex systems at the enterprise level
Significant experience with application systems design and integration particularly in a multi-tiered environment
Experience with infrastructure systems (distributed systems/networks, database technologies, etc.)
Strong business-centric technology architecture skills a must

Must have the ability to create innovative solutions to complex technical problems.
Experienced in performing technology assessments/evaluations on package solutions and internal architecture/designs
Strong communication/interpersonal skills, capable of interacting with multiple levels of IT and business management
Successfully influenced diverse groups and teams in a complex, ambiguous and rapidly changing environment to deliver value-added solutions
Highly Effective in Matrix management and team building
Consistent ability to set and deliver against a work plan in a fast-paced environment, giving attention to detail even under high-pressure situations.
